Ozaukee County 4-H is growing, with a 3% increase in enrollment this year, reflecting enthusiasm for hands-on learning, leadership, and community engagement among local youth. As more families discover the opportunities 4-H provides, members are exploring both traditional and emerging project areas that align with their Sparks and future career aspirations.
This year, rock climbing, sports, geocaching, veterinary science, food preservation, and creative writing saw the most significant increases in participation. These areas highlight the evolving interests of 4-H members who are eager to challenge themselves physically, develop problem-solving skills, and gain real-world knowledge.
While participation in new and emerging projects is growing, several project areas continue to draw the highest enrollment. This year, the top projects include photography, art, Cloverbuds, poultry, archery, swine, cake decorating, and foods & nutrition.
The continued growth in Ozaukee County 4-H participation is a testament to the program’s ability to adapt to the changing interests of youth! As enrollment rises and projects gain momentum, 4-H members are developing essential life skills that prepare them for the future. The program’s success is made possible by the dedication of volunteers, parents, and community supporters who help foster an environment where youth can thrive. As we celebrate this year’s growth, we look forward to seeing even more young people explore their passions through Ozaukee County 4-H!
