Youth Voice in Ozaukee County 4-H

The Ozaukee County 4-H program is committed to ensuring youth voices shape the future of its programming. To better understand the needs and interests of older youth, a county-wide survey was distributed, gathering valuable insights on leadership opportunities, county-level engagement, and barriers to participation in state and national 4-H events.

Survey results highlighted a strong interest in expanding leadership roles and special interest programs. Follow-up discussions with youth leaders provided additional perspectives, reinforcing the need for enhanced opportunities to connect across clubs and participate in decision-making at the county level. These findings will guide future programming efforts to increase youth involvement and leadership development.

Older youth who were unable to participate in the initial survey but would like to share their thoughts still have an opportunity to contribute. Those interested in shaping the direction of 4-H programming and leadership opportunities are encouraged to contact Abi Quinlan, 4-H Program Educator, at abi.quinlan@wisc.edu or 262-284-8293.

By working together, Ozaukee County 4-H continues to foster a supportive and engaging environment where youth voices drive meaningful change.
