Ozaukee County 4-H Members Partake in State Events

This fall, Ozaukee County 4-H youth are taking their skills to the next level through three statewide programs — Wisconsin 4-H Arts Camp, State 4-H Horse Expo, and Fall Forum. Each event helps youth explore their interests while building confidence, communication, and career readiness skills.

Two middle school members recently attended Wisconsin 4-H Arts Camp, where they discovered new ways to express themselves through art, drama, music, and photography. Working with professional instructors and teen leaders, they practiced teamwork, problem-solving, and creative thinking — all important skills for success in future careers.

Several Ozaukee County youth also represented the county at the State 4-H Horse Expo, held at the Wisconsin State Fair Park. Youth competed in judging and educational contests, demonstrated horse care and handling, and connected with others who share a love of animals. The event highlights responsibility, sportsmanship, and communication — key aspects of leadership and personal development.

Looking ahead, three youth will attend Wisconsin 4-H Fall Forum, a statewide leadership conference bringing together youth and adults from every county. They will participate in workshops on leadership, communication, and community service — gaining hands-on experience that prepares them for future education and careers.

Through these statewide 4-H experiences, Ozaukee County youth are discovering their passions, strengthening leadership skills, and becoming more confident, capable young adults ready to make a difference in their communities.
