4-H Pinewood Derby: STEM Programming
Audience: Grades K5-13, Adult Division too!
Register: Before April 3rd
Cost: $5.00/car kit (one car per participant)
Build Day offers hands-on support for members shaping, sanding, and assembling their cars, while Physics Day takes things a step further by helping youth understand the “why” behind their designs. Participants explore weight placement, aerodynamics, friction, and speed through guided experiments and real-time testing. By the time Race Day arrives, youth are not just competing, they are applying weeks of problem-solving and critical thinking in a high-energy, supportive environment.
Open to youth in grades 5K–13, with an adult division adding a little friendly intergenerational competition, the Pinewood Derby continues to showcase how Ozaukee County 4-H blends tradition with meaningful STEM learning. It is shaping up to be more than a race. It is a countywide celebration of creativity, collaboration, and learning by doing!
