New Program Guide for Wisconsin 4-H

This year, Wisconsin 4-H released a newly updated Statewide Project Guide, giving families, youth, and volunteers a clearer picture of the wide variety of projects and opportunities available through 4-H. The guide brings together resources from across the state into one easy-to-navigate format, designed to help youth explore their sparks—the passions and interests that motivate them to learn and grow.

For Ozaukee County, the new guide is more than just a list of projects. It creates a shared framework that helps us align our local programming with statewide goals while still celebrating the unique strengths of our community. Families can now see the full range of projects offered across Wisconsin, and compare them with the opportunities available right here at home. This helps new members choose projects that spark excitement, while also encouraging youth to try something new.

Some highlights of the impact locally include:

  • Clarity and Consistency: Families now have a common language and set of project descriptions, reducing confusion when registering or comparing opportunities between counties.
  • Broader Exposure: Youth in Ozaukee County can see the wide spectrum of projects—ranging from animal science to robotics to creative arts—helping them dream bigger.
  • Program Development: For volunteers and leaders, the guide serves as a tool for identifying gaps and opportunities, allowing us to build county-level programming that complements the statewide offerings.
  • Youth Empowerment: By giving young people a chance to explore diverse projects, the guide supports the development of skills, confidence, and leadership that extend far beyond 4-H.

Ozaukee County’s 4-H program is already taking steps to use the new guide as a resource and as more families use it, the guide will serve as a bridge between state and local opportunities, making 4-H even more accessible, inclusive, and inspiring.
