Workshop Details

Training farm personnel is essential for maintaining milk quality, preventing mastitis, supporting animal welfare, and improving milking efficiency. To help dairy farms strengthen these skills, the UW–Madison Division of Extension Dairy Program is offering “From Barn to Tank,” a workshop for dairy employees and farm teams. Participants will learn practical cow-handling techniques based on natural cattle behavior and proven milking parlor practices. The training will focus on skills that can be applied every day to improve cow comfort, prevent mastitis, protect milk quality, maintain consistent milking routines, and create a safer and more efficient milking environment.

The UW–Madison Division of Extension Dairy Program thanks Compeer for sponsoring this workshop and supporting educational programs for Wisconsin dairy farms. The workshop will be led by Carolina Pinzón M.Sc., Statewide Bilingual Dairy Outreach Specialist with UW–Madison Division of Extension, and Manuel Peña M.Sc., Bilingual Regional Dairy Educator serving Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, and Dodge counties.

This workshop meets FARM CE requirements for stockmanship credits that attendees will be able to use at their next evaluation. Register today and join us to learn from and discuss practical dairy management topics with experts.
