Countywide Fishing Project

What you can do in this project?

This project focuses on fishing and is open to anyone from beginners to seasoned anglers. At meetings, youth are encouraged to tell the group about their catches and fishing experiences. Fishing outings will be held at ponds throughout Ozaukee County during warmer months.

• Overview of common freshwater fish species
• Fishing knots and various types of fishing equipment – fishing lines, reels, rods, and more
• Fishing lures and lure presentation to target certain fish species
• General Wisconsin fishing laws
• Introduction to different ways to fish

Ages:

3-13 grades. Note: A parent or guardian is required to stay with younger youth at scheduled fishing outings.

Cost:

To be determined, contact project leader. Bait and essential items will be provided.

Equipment Needed:

Fishing pole (rod and reel) to be provided by participant.
